falling into you – wynona

So many eras are making their comeback in music, and I’ve been longing for the 90s Britpop era to have its spotlight again.

Bringing back Britpop is UK duo, Wynona, consisting of Natalie and Rich. Wynona makes their comeback with “Falling Into You,” evoking a nostalgic feeling that leaves you in a trance. Throughout the song, Rich’s reverb on the chords with soft vocals from Natalie will keep you lingering for a while as she sings, “But I’m afraid you won’t let me down enough to ground me.”

Without a doubt, Wynona delivers their ideal rom-com track with, “Falling Into You. “Falling Into You” is a song about how relationships aren’t as simple as some rom-coms make it out to be. There isn’t one problem with one solution, and they live happily ever after. Although there is more depth to the nuances that make a relationship, “Falling Into You” is a reminder that relationships are more than commonalities and feelings. According to Wynona, “There is the ebb and flow through every relationship, and “Falling Into You” confronts the reality that there will always be things you won’t understand about the person you choose to be with. However, despite their shortcomings, you inevitably keep falling for them repeatedly, in a repeating cycle.”

Wynona brings an element to their music that dives deeper than just surface-level melodic pop. From their overall aesthetic to their hairstyles, you can’t help but feel the past melding with the present; they even self-proclaim themselves as “mum-jean rock.” A fitting name for a new era in music, one that we all should be excited for.
