Nina grew up all around music and has played many different instruments throughout their life. Residing in the Los Angeles area, you can find her going to a concert, playing guitar, or reading a book (that is probably about music). She loves sharing the music she loves with other people, and you’ll probably hear them say, “I listened to them before they blew up!” about at least one artist.

Sasha (she/her)

Sasha, based in New York, is recognized for intertwining personal stories and thoughtful analysis into her writing. When it comes to music, her exploration encompasses the beauty of lyrics and melodies in pop, alternative, and R&B, steering clear of analytical elements like chart numbers or commercial success. Instead, she delves into themes that gently inspire conversations about the human experience, fostering connections and shared reflections.

Megan (she/her)

Megan has a history of becoming obsessed with musicians in a very short amount of time. Ever since she was young, she would find solace in listening to music and being able to get away from her life for a bit. Megan has had phases of being obsessed with Pentatonix, BTS, The Neighborhood, and Pink Floyd, just to name a few.  Due to multiple failed attempts to learn how to play instruments, she has resigned herself to staying within the opposing side of the music industry- as a listener rather than a creator. Megan has grown up with a father with a strong love of heavy metal, and that shaped a lot of her listening in the early years, but now she has grown to find her own genre of music to enjoy.

Megan is originally from Green Bay, WI (Go Packers!), but is currently pursuing a degree in Neuroscience at UW – Eau Claire, although every day she becomes closer to switching to an English major. When she’s not zoned out listening to one of her (many) playlists, she’s either hardcore studying biology, working as a writing intern on-campus, or buying books (although not necessarily reading them).

Tyerra Clayborne (she/her)

While Tyerra grew up in a house hold that encouraged the creation of music, she get her first taste of what it feels like to recommend a song to someone (and for them to love it) in middle school. One of her favorite hobbies was burning Mix CDs to give to her friends, and that love for sharing and curating music has continued to grow.

By day she’s a marketing coordinator for a major health system out of South Carolina. By night she’s… well, take your pick. Lead singer, producer, songwriter, vintage curator, barista, blogger, film camera enthusiast, and the friend that says “yes”, even to the bad ideas.

Martina (she/her)

Martina went to her first concert before she was even a year old thanks to the timing of her annual state fair and her music-obsessed parents. Since being raised on classic rock and 2000s country music, she’s dipped her toes into hundreds of genres, always excited to discover a new artist or a new song to loop for a month straight.

Born and raised in Ocean View, Delaware, Martina attended college just two hours away at the University of Delaware where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in English. After graduating, she has been crafting artist interviews with Unclear Magazine while working full-time as a local librarian. She’s excited to be able to write about all of her favorite artists, new releases, and latest fixations with the Daybreak team. Some of Martina’s favorite things include making playlists, reading, taking walks on the beach, journaling, and ranting about her current obsessions with anyone who will listen.

Olivia is a songwriter and musician who loves to retreat into her vivid inner world through writing. From a young age, she found comfort in being able to express herself through both lyrics and creative pieces. She has taken a liking toward getting to write for others as well as developing her own personal artistry.

While originally from Long Island, NY, Olivia is currently studying Music Business in Nashville, TN. As a student, she has begun to dip her toes within the sync licensing side of the music industry, along with music editing and supervision. When she’s not doing music, you can often find her spending time outside, painting in her room, photographing concerts, traveling somewhere new, or cooking with friends.

Charlotte (she/her)

Charlotte is a musician and writer based in Liverpool, UK. She is an independent artist currently completing a Songwriting degree at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, during which she has performed original indie / folk music around the North West of England.

Whilst Charlotte has dedicated the past 5 years to writing and producing music, more recently her interests have veered towards journalism. Exploring her artistic influences through writing was the inspiration behind her blog ‘Recurrent Verse’, where she discusses the nuances of the music industry. Some of her favourite things include her pets, reading, listening to new music, drinking vanilla oat matchas and playing video games.

Samantha Berger (she/her)

Samantha Berger is a Chicago-born, LA-based A&R Coordinator at Interscope Records. She graduated with a MS in Music Industry from Thornton School of Music at the University of Southern California in 2022, after completing her undergraduate studies at USC as well. At Interscope Records, she works on artists such as Lady Gaga, BTS, Carly Rae Jepsen, Still Woozy, Gracie Abrams, and more. She also is a writer and curator at Early Rising, a publication for upcoming artists, and started her own non-profit concert production organization SamxSam Productions that donates 100% of their proceeds to Planned Parenthood. She recently launched producer management company, Test Run Management, and is constantly dipping her toes into new endeavours.

Currently studying abroad in Seoul South Korea as a music business student, it’s clear that Beya has a huge passion for international music. She loves working in sync which allows her to explore and discover all different kinds of indie artists and songwriters. Writing and music are two huge passions of Beya’s, so she is super stoked for the opportunity to be working with Daybreak Music. Former LA times writer, Beya loves to find niche local stories that can be brought to the lime light. In her free time she listens to Sabrina Carpenter’s album ‘emails I cant send’ on repeat an unhealthy amount of times. She is a foodie and enjoys spending quality time with her close friends, whether that is fangirling over the latest k-pop music video together or cooking a big Italian dinner for everyone.
