Faye Webster and Lil Yachty Join Forces for the Playful “Lego Ring”

Faye Webster and Lil Yachty are ringing in 2024 with their collaborative single, “Lego Ring.” The ethereal charm of Webster’s soft voice blends seamlessly with Lil Yachty’s distorted sound, creating an exciting, psychedelic-rock atmosphere. The interplay of their vocals take centerstage in this song, overshadowing the straightforward and repetitive instrumentation but enhancing the slowed down, acid-like sound of the chorus. It’s a combination that effortlessly clicks for these two artists.

The track doesn’t delve into profound themes or deliver any hard-hitting messages; instead, it revels in the vibrancy and lighthearted spirit this duo infuses into this collaboration. Webster goes on to describe,

“I think I hit a point in songwriting during this record where I was just like, man, I said a lot. The record feels like a mouthful to me, but I don’t always have to be deep. I can just sit down and sing about this ring made of crystal Lego that I really want.”

To add to the whimsical, child-like nature of this song, “Lego Ring” is accompanied by a music video showcasing the two performing their song on the video game, Singsongrama, which can actually be played here. Though many listeners were met with confusion and shock over this seemingly unexpected collaboration, Webster and Lil Yachty have been friends since middle school. In fact, Webster took photos of Lil Yachty for a photoshoot in 2016.

This single is coupled with the announcement of Webster’s upcoming album, Underdressed at the Symphony, set to be released March 1st. Check out the music video for “Lego Ring,” and stream the single on Spotify.
