re:set show – boygenius and clairo

It was humid. It was hot. But it was not just the heat; it was also the energy at the show.

boygenius in drag. Clairo’s last show of the sling era.

The re:set experience was indeed a memory that I will cherish forever.

As a devoted admirer of the boygenius album and a daily listener of Clairo’s music, I was eagerly looking forward to this event. It was a truly unforgettable experience, and I found every moment of re:set’s performances to be absolutely exceptional. Each act delivered an outstanding show that was full of energy, passion, and talent. I was thoroughly impressed by the level of dedication and artistry displayed by all the performers, and I feel truly fortunate to have been able to witness such an incredible showcase of musical talent.

The event’s crowd seamlessly transitioned between different performances, offering support to each artist. Whether it was Dijon’s calm and laid-back acoustic set, Clairo’s chill and vibey set, or boygenius’ electric performance, the audience showed the perfect level of encouragement for every act.

The serene and tranquil atmosphere that Clairo creates during her performances is truly remarkable. Her recent album, which features the likes of “Amoeba” and “Blouse,” was also featured in her previous tour. Although I was unable to see her perform live during her tour, I found myself thoroughly engrossed in her set. Clairo’s innate ability to bring a sense of calm to any stage is truly captivating and enhances the overall experience for her audience. It was a truly memorable performance.

As an avid enthusiast of boygenius’ debut album and the individual works of each member, I was elated when I heard about the release of their album, the record, and subsequent tour announcement. I could not contain my excitement as I eagerly anticipated their performance at re:set. To say that boygenius exceeded my expectations would be an understatement. Their captivating full-drag ensembles, packed setlist, and electrifying stage presence left the crowd completely entranced. It was truly an unforgettable experience that will forever be etched in my memory.

boygenius has taken a stand against the recent discriminatory laws in Tennessee by having their entire performance team dress in drag. These laws unfairly target the existence and expression of drag, and it is important to show support for the individuals and communities affected by them. Julien Baker currently resides in Nashville, setting an admirable example of supporting and standing with one’s community in any capacity possible.

I must say, this show was absolutely unforgettable and I hope you can experience some of the excitement through these photos. If boygenius or Clairo is performing near you, I highly recommend going for a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
