take a break with SISTRA – You’re a Lot

There comes a point in some relationships where you need to simply cut it off. The relationship has hit its end point, and all it’s doing now is draining you. “You’re a Lot” is the debut single from the band SISTRA. Sisters Sasha and Sylvie from the London, have made a stand-out song that you can play on repeat. Their use of fun prints and bright colors in their clothing clashes with their sound in all the right places. The song is reminiscent of a bad relationship, singing:

“But you won’t hide self-loathing with your new cologne” and “I’m not strong enough, god I’m so exhausted by you”

Their garage inspired production is repetitive, an analogy to how this relationship keeps going in circles. To balance it all out, their vocals seal the finality of how it’s time to move on. You can hear their influences in their sound from the likes of The Japanese House, The 1975, and Holly Humberstone. The chorus is guaranteed to get stuck in your head. As you’re picking up oat milk from your local grocery store, you won’t be able to resist finding yourself humming along and singing to yourself, “you’re a lot babe you take all my energy.”

SISTRA is well on their way in establishing themselves in the Pop world. As a debut release, they don’t cut any corners. For some artists, it may take a while for them to find their sound—but not SISTRA. The only downside, sadly, is that their catalog is so small. You can also listen to their other heartache focused single, “Lost My Way,” to hold you over. With its dreamy production, mellow harmonies, and an infectious chorus, this track will undoubtedly find its way into your playlist. Meanwhile, eagerly anticipate the upcoming release of their first EP, the pursuit of feeling fine.

You can follow SISTRA on Instagram and TikTok @sistramusic and find their music on all platforms.
