a guide to moon tang

Moon Tang, a Thai-Chinese singer-songwriter focuses on creating dreamy pop songs that radiate cute and cozy vibes. Over the past year, moon tang has exploded in popularity and continues to grow with the release of her new album.

Initially, Moon sang cover songs, but then discovered that those songs couldn’t quell the emptiness. She decided to start writing her own music to reflect how she felt in her heart to expel bad feelings and cope with heartbreak. She began by writing songs from her experiences in Copenhagen on exchange including her song’ “Get Lost”.

From receiving success through social media, Moon decided to release two parallel singles “i hate you” and “i love you” and her most recent single “bad weather” prior to her new album. The 23-year-old Hong Kong singer recently signed to Warner Music Hong Kong and looks to share her new album for audiences all around the world.

In her first album, “water coming out of your eyes”, moon tang writes gut-wrenchingly relatable tracks that will grab your attention. Through a loveless approach, Moon breaks down some of her relationships, including ones that made water gush from her eyes and others that made her plan for the future.

Each song creates a different set of feelings like “i love you,” that feels like smashing glass on the floor with sharp production synths and exploding crescendos. Then a parallel is “floor plan” that couples strings with a vulnerable vocal set to be such a warm and vulnerable flowery song.

Moon tang truly will create an indie pop foothold with this album and I cannot wait to continue to watch her grow. Stream her album, “water coming out of your eyes” and hopefully attend one of her future shows.
