burning love letters – april june

Based in the EU, alternative/indie artist april june wears her heart on her sleeve. She gives young love nostalgia with casual undertones of angst. Also known as Victoria, her genre is with the likes of bedroom pop sensations like Clairo and beabadoobee.

Her latest single, “burning love letters” delivers how loneliness feels with heartbreak. Reminiscing in her memories with a lover gives a feeling of longing — leaving you wanting more. April june enchants listeners with fluttering echoes of dreamlike vocals.

A standout lyric that many of us can relate to, “And now the summer is gone but I’m still here,” captures the slow burn of a fleeting summer romance. If you’re someone who catches feelings easily, burning love letters will definitely help ease the pain just a little. I like the diary vibe of the song, as if we’re going through the trials and tribulations with april june. I’m taken to her world and I’m running toward a voice in a chaotic blur.
